Wave Accounting Reviews
Surprisingly, report view shown totally different balances. Upon further inspection I realized that Wave was over writing all the currency exchange rates with it’s own rate. Tech support was painfully slow to respond and did not offer a solution. They basically told me to fudge the numbers until the Reports reflect actual accounts which is fundamentally wrong.Apart from that, the software is very slow and tedious to use.
During our time with them we also experienced chargeback fraud. We found out about it when noticed money disappear from our https://accounting-services.net/ bank account – taken by Wave. No indication, or communication until we discovered it and questioned what had happened.
Every time I figure out the changes they change it again. There are some really good aspects. However, there are also basic accounting problems that need to be resolved.

This services are considered premium so there are some small charges that you can expect to pay for monthly if you so choose.
You pay for the Payroll functionality and don’t get much in return. Setting up a new payroll account with other provider will be painful, however time spent dealing with Wave support costs way more. I now face a choice between entering all the bank transactions manually for the past 5 months or finding another accounting software option.
Did our due diligence sending in supporting documents. A month later, still no response. Again without notice they have been holding all payouts forcing us to operate on reserves. This type of action/service is not a luxury small business can afford. We’ve since starting using Quickbooks with real people to talk to. The experience so far has been flawless.
A list of recent payments appears, and a link in the upper right corner says, “Pay out now.” Click it, and you see what your payout would be after wave accounting reviews the one-percent fee is taken out. I went through ID check process and assumed that was it. A week later the page was still saying stay tuned… Another email…. When I followed up 3 weeks later they sent me a link to try the process again and after 2 days replied that they cannot enable it for me. After another email they just refused provide any details saying for security reasons they cannot say why. Request to escalate was ignored and according to Wave support there is no escalation process. At that point I gave up. Wave positions itself as a free cloudbased software, but it is not!
That is correct. Wave does not currently offer an invoice app for Android. As for when it’s coming, Wave has only said that it is in development; the company has not provided a timeline or release date.

- It offers hourly and salary, plus calculates and tracks time off, W2s, clock in and clock out for hourly and similar.
- I can also confirm, that unless a holiday occurs, we get payment in our checking account within 2-4 business days.
- I can confirm there is no scam here, just a poorly planned user experience and flow for setup, beyond setup it is fine. For those that need it… The Payroll service is great.
- It is a core tool of our companies and we aren’t moving to Qbooks or similar anytime soon.Reporting is an area of concern.
- The fees are reasonable, I know you can get better rates from outside companies, but we decided the ease of integrations, reporting, tracking and similar is well worth the half a point we would save.
- The only limitation we have seen here is that there is only 1 direct deposit option per employee, so we can’t send to multiple destinations as some have requested, like a checking and savings.

Katherine,I currently work at an accounting firm with the majority of our clients being small business owners. Do you think it would be a good fit for these clients? Any suggestions? As for which program is best, it cash basis vs accrual basis accounting really depends on your business and your needs. But it all depends what features you need. Both programs offer some features the other doesn’t. And depending on your situation, Zoho Books might be the best fit.
I just paid for a $249 one hour session with one of their experts. So we will see how that goes. My experience with wave support was terrible. They don’t have square integration, so no pulling employees timesheets. I was okay with that hoping that Wave will implement it eventually.
Wave does not seem to handle multi-currency transactions very well. It overwrites actual bank prepaid expenses rates of the exchange transactions with its own rates. In result, your numbers will be off.
